The Freedom to Create
The creative power of free and open software is creating a revolution. Many people don't fully realize this yet, since the benefits of free software are hard to appreciate before experiencing them first-hand. At MakeSweet, we are building services based on free software as a gateway for others to discover and learn about that software (and the people behind it). We are particularly excited about the combination of geeky graphics and computer vision software with people of taste who can build awesome things from them.
Blending pictures and animations
An example of our services? Check out our picture mixer tool based on Blender.
You can put a picture or a message for your friend in one of our prepared scenes. Some are animations, like the heart-shaped locket or the flying flag, others are stills, like the street billboard or the shoulder tattoo. All are ready to have your pictures and messages inserted in key 3D surfaces.
The tool is useful for both the casual surfer wanting some snazzy images, and the blender beginner looking for examples to play with and download (all .blend files are publically available). We are coming up with ways to smoothly progress though levels of ability while always being able to explore what is possible at the next level.

save your stuff: Now when you make a picture or animation on our site, you can save it with a short URL, such as http://makesweet.com/test on our site itself. This skips the step of downloading and emailing or posting elsewhere. Just look for the “save to” option on high-resolution pictures and animations. Enjoy!
