New sailboat design

September 4th, 2008 by dalek

We’ve just added a new sailboat design to the picture mixer. You can place a picture or text on one of its sails. It is a little awkward to use, so we’ll be tweaking it from time to time. Enjoy!

flag aspect ratio fixed

August 28th, 2008 by dalek

Images placed on the flag animation are no longer be stretched out along the flag. So squares stay square. If you want to fill the whole flag, just press the “zoom in” button as much as you need to.

Fixes to wine bottles and photo museum

August 27th, 2008 by dalek

Some fixes to small “bugs” in some picture mixer designs:

  • The wine bottles design now actually has the correct transformation for images onto the space where the wine bottle labels are.
  • The photo museum design no longer repeats the image if it doesn’t quite fit in the space provided.

Thanks for all those who reported these problems. One remaining issue we need to fix is the aspect ratio of images projected onto the flying flag. This would probably be easy to fix for a Blender expert, but we’re just feeling our way.

Brazil is back

August 27th, 2008 by dalek

Enthusing about our “Gerando bandeiras tremulantes com sua imagem ou frase”, Brazil is back - thanks, Ueba! (*update* and thanks also to Fábio P for “Crie animações com suas imagens“!) We had a previous wave of Brazilian visitors started by Manias de Geek.

I need to learn more languages…

Flaggen-generator on Spiegel Online

August 22nd, 2008 by dalek

Achtung! Our flag design was featured as a “flaggen-generator” on Spiegel Online, in some kind of video thingie (the ehrensenf series). You have to kind of poke around to find it, but it is there. Willkommen, Deutschland!

Update, the flag design was also featured as “Eigene Fahne im Web” on the Thalex Netdiver blog. Thanks!

MakeSweet in Italiano

Maestro Alberto Blog
Benvenuto Italia! MakeSweet has popped up on Maestro Alberto’s blog. Grazie Alberto!

Gosh our content sounds so romantic in Italian: “bandiera al vento, cartellone pubblicitario, tatuaggio, medaglia a forma di cuore, chitarra, libro sul piedistallo, bottiglie di vino, candela, foto al museo, libro.” Mamma mia. You had me at bandiera.

Sorry for the content-free nature of recent posts; we’ve just been undergoing a traffic spike and it is fun watching the word spread (and get translated).

flag design on generator blog

August 21st, 2008 by dalek

The flying flag design has been featured on the generator blog today. Thanks Gerard! Other fun links on the generator blog today: makemebabies.com, for making a wild guess at what the baby of two parents would look like, and the lazy blogger post generator, which creates gems like this:

OMG! I just got a bajillion whiny emails saying I have not updated this since Hammertime was in the charts… You would not believe the amount of people that are totally stalking me. I prostrate myself in sorrow and beg thy forgiveness..

I am absolutely consumed with setting fire to people wearing Crocs, learning to speak Japanese, just generally being an embarrassment to society in general, my day is filled with fluorescent light from the second I am woken by murderous Teletubbies to I run out of alcohol. I am not being a whinging Pom or anything. as well you should know.

I swear on the bones of my ancestors I will try to remember my blog password more often in future. Truly! This is for my ever faithful, devoted public..

Looks like our site is in good company. Well, company.

welcome to the generator blog
